What should I consider when choosing a post primary school for my child?
Consider the school’s ethos, location, subject choices, special needs and pastoral supports, activities and your child’s own preference. The school website and local knowledge can also help.
Who can my teen talk to if
they’re feeling low?
Speak to your GP first and foremost. They can recommend supports or referrals. Your teen can also speak to the school’s Guidance Counsellor.
What is Transition Year?
Transition Year is a one-year programme between Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate. It may include personal development, work experience and opportunities to explore new interests, but it is not available or compulsory in every school.
