NPC offers training for new and established Parents' Associations. The training consists of two different sessions.
Session 1. Information session: This session is useful for schools who wish to set up a Parents' Association and explores the role and function of the Parents' Association in the school. It is open to the whole school community and gives everyone a better understanding of what a Parents' Association is and does within the school.
Session 2: Training for the Parents' Association committee - This session creates a clear understanding of the various roles on the committee and is tailor made to suit the needs of the committee. The committee members begin to explore what Parental Involvement should entail, both in the home and in the school. This is in line with the National Strategy to Improve Literacy and Numeracy among children and young people 2011 - 2020, which outlines the role of parents in their children's education both in the home and in the school.
