1. Introduction and who we are

National Parents Council Primary (NPC) is the representative organisation for parents of children in primary or early education. 

NPC is committed to safeguarding the privacy of visitors to our website www.npc.ie  This Privacy Statement explains what happens to any data that you provide to us or that we collect from you when you visit our website. You should not visit our website if you are not happy with this statement.

This policy will be updated regularly.

 

2. Information we collect

a) Personal Data: this is data which identifies you or can be used to identify or contact you. Personal data will only be collected from you voluntarily and with your permission and will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, in accordance with Data Protection legislation and GDPR.

You are not required to provide Personal data to browse and use our website, this data will only be collected if you do one or other of the following:

  • register for an event, 
  • complete a NPC training application form, 
  • apply for NPC membership, 
  • purchase NPC publications or 
  • sign up to the NPC Contacts’ database.

b) Non-personal Data: this is data which cannot be used to identify or contact you, including your IP address, domain name, browser type, operating system and other anonymous statistical data involving the use of our website. 

NPC uses Google Analytics to monitor visitor behaviour with our website, so that we can improve the visitor experience.

c) Cookies: cookies are very small files which are downloaded to your device when you visit our website, cookies store information about your preferences when you visit our site. Essential cookies help make a website usable by enabling basic functions like page navigation and access to secure areas of the website. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.

3. Disclosure of information to third parties

NPC will not disclose your personal data to any third parties unless:

  • you have given us your permission to do so, or
  • we are required to disclose this data in order to comply with any applicable law, summons, search warrant, court or regulatory order or other statutory requirement.

NPC takes its security responsibilities very seriously.

Your personal data is held on a secure server by our hosting provider, Blacknight. NPC will take all reasonable measures to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of personal data you share with us; however, Internet transmissions are never guaranteed secure.

By using our website, you accept that any information you share with NPC may be intercepted by others. All payments for publications, training sessions or membership via the NPC website are done through PayPal, NPC does not handle any credit card payments directly, as such you also accept that NPC has no responsibility and will not accept liability for loss, injury or damage caused by interception of data.

 

5. Access to your personal information

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, amend or request that NPC delete any personal data that we hold on you.

There is no fee for this request.

This Privacy Statement was last amended on 21st of May 2018 and will be subject to change. It is the responsibility of those using our website to check this statement frequently to be aware of any changes.
