Magic Dancing Rice Experiment

 

 

Materials Needed

White Vinegar

Baking Soda

Rice

Clear Jar

Water

Food Colouring (Optional)

 

Directions

Fill the Clear Jar 3/4 Way Full of Water. If desired, mix in food colouring.

Add in 1 TBS of Baking Soda and stir.  Mix completely.

Pour in a 1/4 Cup of Uncooked Rice.

Add in 1-2 TBS of White Vinegar.

 

 

It the reaction doesn’t happen at first, add in a little more vinegar. The top fizzes slightly but then the rice will start to dance around the jar. It is fantastic.

It is better to add in food colouring as it makes It made the effect look even more cool. It almost looked like a black light show or some sort of light show.
