The Department of Education is offering provision of expanded summer education programmes for children with complex healthcare needs for summer 2021, to help to ensure they can move on to their planned educational placement next September along with their peers.
Pre-school children with complex needs who are transitioning to primary school in September can avail of in-school supports. A home-based summer programme providing 10 hours per week for 4 weeks of home based support is available where children are not offered a place in a school programme.
If you believe your child – or a child in your pre-school service who is transitioning to school this September – may be eligible for the Summer Programme or the home-based programme, you should contact the school which the child will be attending.
