The 4 year term of office for the current boards of management of all primary schools will come to an end on the 30th of November 2019 and the changeover to new Boards will take place from 1 December 2019.

A new circular 0057/2019  published by the Department of Education and Skills on 24 September 2019 informs primary school authorities that the updated Governance Manual for Primary Schools 2019 – 2023 has been published. This manual contains an overview of the role of the Board and the various rules regarding the composition and operation of Boards.
