BEACONS (Bringing Education Alive for our Communities On a National Scale) is a process through which the Teaching Council is trying to develop a model for more and better conversations between teachers, parents and children at a local community level. NPC supports BEACONS and has been on the advisory group for BEACONS since it started.

On Thursday and Friday the 27th and 28th of February 2020 a BEACONS event was held in the Old Ground Hotel, Ennis, Co. Clare.

The theme for this event was inclusive education. This was not a consultation meeting but simply a conversation where all voices could be heard. The hope is that this process will help map how conversations on inclusive education could develop around the country at a local level, and thereby shape and inform national level consultations and conversations.
