A recent survey shows that close to 55% of parents are concerned about the long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their child’s mental health
Over 2,000 parents responded to the survey, which Walk in My Shoes (WIMS) carried out in partnership with National Parents Council Primary (NPC) in June. 30% of parents sought support or information about their children’s mental health during the pandemic, and 60% of parents feel they need help to support their child with anxiety.
WIMS are hosting a free webinar for parents on Tuesday, 27 July, with a specific focus on the top concerns identified in the survey findings. Speakers include clinical psychologist and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, Paul Gilligan; Áine Lynch, NPC CEO; and Cliodhna McDonnell, Founder of Doing the Best We Can, a peer support network for parents and guardians.
